So instead, here’s a Play Play of us SHOWING you guys just how bad of a video game that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 really is—we’re kinda sorry about this.

Keyword being “kinda.”

PPR Presents Play Play: Brave Fencer Musashi

he frontier of platformers back in the late 90’s was uhhh, endearing to say the least. And man, oh MAN, were they ever just a wave of cutesy, mascot-ready, big-headed snark-slingers filled with all of that ‘tude.

Brave Fencer Musashi is a charming little melting pot of those sentiments, standing out among the herd with a bunch of action-RPG dynamics, with some Kirby mechanics on top. Now the question is whether or not this game aged very well? Not to mention where it comes into play with Nomura design timeline of limb belts and superfluous zippers on zippers, and more as Ser and Georgie wax on about it between all the shitty Haikus they hear about death.

PPR Presents Play Play: Ultonius: A Tale of Petty Revenge

here’s a fine line between appreciating nostalgia and what it is to you, and celebrating it with a devotion that holds it to the elevated expectations of modern day standards.

Ultonius: A Tale of Petty Revenge, is that weird game example what happens when you blur that line; making it that hot mess that tries to have its old cake, and eat it too.

Which is what makes it kind of cool and obnoxious all the same time—it’s really weird.

Ser and George mull the game over and the subject of old arcade games as we boot up this action title from Last Dimension on the latest installment of Play Play; enjoy!

PPR Presents Play Play: Yoshi's Wooly World

lanket out of ten, would blanket again; Nintendo and Good-Feel have dropped an adorable, yarny-ass, yarn take on T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas called Yoshi’s Wooly World, and it’s another one of his cute skirmishes with Baby Bowser.

This game is just too fun to look at.

Ser and George gather round to talk about the yarn dynamics and their role within the game design arc of Yoshi side-scrolling game, along with other features like the Amiibo features, and more.

Who’re we kidding, it’s just a twenty minute video or so of two grown men gushing over how friggin’ kawai Yoshi and his hijinks is; enjoy!

PPR Presents Play Play: Downwell

arlier this year at the IGF pavilion booth during GDC 15, George was able to play an assortment of the indie nominations that were showcased to the attendees before the big award show, and he just couldn’t shut up about one in particular.

It was just “Aww man DOWNWELL” this, and “Dude, DOWNWELL” that; it really struck a chord with him. Now that it’s out on iOS and Steam, he just had to do a Play Play of it, and here it is, all by his lonesome because we’ve already heard enough of it.

I’m sure you guy will enjoy though! Check out Downwell right here!

PPR Presents Play Play: A Back To The Future Special

he date of October, 21, 2015 was a pretty big deal; it marked the end of an era for most, and the start of something new for everyone—the Back To The Future trilogy has officially come full circle, and is now a relic of the past in more ways than one.

Robert Zemeckis’ and Bob Gale’s story of a restless teenager and eccentric scientist friend looking to seek more out of the life has been revered for up to thirty years now, and the PPR crew has decided to take a look at some of these titles on the date the duo decide to embark into the future.

Join Ser (someone who doesn’t have a whole lot of history with the franchise) and George ( a diehard fan who cites the trilogy as his favorite film property of all time) as they wax about odd facts and memories of series while playing some of it’s more favorable video game adaptions.

PPR Presents Play Play: Rare Replay

s far as legacy collections go, Rare Replay has already gone above, and beyond to elevate itself the likes of Midway and Namco with its lot of 30 bundled games—in fact, you can check out our review for it here.

We figured we’d give you guys a better look at the package in this latest Play Play; Ser and George will tackle a variety of games and content, and there’s some hating on Blast Corps to go along with it.

PPR Presents Play Play: PAC-MAN 256

hether it’s some bratty millennial, or a crotchety-ass geriatric, there are a few things within pop culture that these two wildly different demographics will often times share knowledge of—they’re both aware of a particular yellow humanoid sphere with an insatiable appetite.

PAC-MAN has been a staple in video games since it first hit the arcades all those years ago, and if the new title from Hipster Whale, PAC-MAN 256, is any indication of the famous circle’s current status-quo, then he’s rest assured to continue as a staple into the future of gaming.

Ser and Georgie whip out their smartphones, and show off the new title, and it’s modernized spin on a very familiar formula, and talk about why it’s one of the coolest surprises to come out of 2015.
